"When women’s reproductive rights are no longer threatened, when cleaning commericals no longer solely feature women, when women at colleges all over the country stop fearing being raped while participating in activities their male counterparts take on without fear, when I stop getting hollered at in sweatpants on my way to the grocery store, when little girls like my youngest sister, who at 9 became depressed because she wasn’t skinny enough, stop worrying about their body image, and when women of color and women across the world are no longer subjected to far more extreme oppression than the above stated difficulties experienced by this white, American, middle class woman, I will then be ok with being an “equalist” instead of a “feminist”. Of course I believe in equality for all people, it just seems women have consistently gotten the shit end of the stick, so for now feminism still deserves my weight. Oh this should be added to the list: when anyone with half a brain stops saying that “feminism has made things more difficult for men…” holy jesus f-ing christ. I am a feminist. This is me screaming it from the internet rooftops."
